Our History

Medical Consultants Network (MCN) was founded in 1985 in Seattle, WA by Brian L. Grant, MD, who continues to serve as Chair and Associate Medical Director. Originally a regional company called Medical Consultants Northwest, MCN has long outgrown its Northwest roots and now serves all 50 states and Canada.

The company was the first Independent Review Organization (IRO) to create a national network (1997). Recognizing that examinations need to be near the claimant and that claimants live in all regions, MCN recruits and credentials physicians across the country to meet the geographic requirements of our clients. We have created a network infrastructure to connect our consultants and physicians to the company, claimants, and clients. Offices and call-centers located in Washington, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Oregon support this national network. All offices and staff are connected in real-time via a secure proprietary information system that tracks all service requests and maintains documents and workflow. This information is accessible to registered client users via a secure web interface. MCN introduced the use of the Internet to medical assessment services and continues to innovate, linking information directly to the desktops and claims systems of clients and consultants.
