MCN is expanding our national panel of disability peer reviewers. We seek specialists in most fields to review medical files for long and short-term disability claims. Most of the required tasks can be performed after hours or at home with no direct patient contact.

It is essential that those who express interest understand and are willing to comply with the strict requirements of our clients. These include:

• Willingness to provide reports within 24-48 hours of assignment
• Possible need to have a teleconference with treating provider(s)
• Review all materials in file
• Utilize MCN's online document management system
• Respond promptly to any clarification requests
• Active medical license and board certification in your specialty with a clean disciplinary history
• Availability and responsiveness to MCN scheduling and client service staff
• Acceptance of MCN's payment policies

Provide written narrative including:

• A summary of ALL documents reviewed.
• An analysis of the file including documentation of your rationale for your opinions and conclusions that reference specific file content
• A summary of the claimant's subjective and objective symptoms and diagnoses
• A summary of physical examinations, diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures performed, as described in the reviewed file
• An opinion regarding functional limitation according to the reviewed file information
• An opinion regarding the claimant's medical prognosis
• Identification of any discrepancies between objective clinical information and claimant's subjective complaint
• Documentation of any conversations with the treating physician
• Answers to the questions posed in the cover letter in Question and Answer format
• A statement verifying performance of the review
• Other requirements as determined by the case or the client
